What is a Capsule wardrobe is talked about over here. I thought it might be fun to show how I put together a LuLaRoe Capsule. This isn’t a full wardrobe type capsule but it is a great way to get lots of different outfits from a limited number of pieces. The key is to find those pieces that can mix and match!
The LuLaRoe Capsule
I occasionally hear “LuLaRoe is so expensive”, or “I have this piece I love, but nothing to wear it with”. I feel ya girl, I do. So, enter…capsules. You get way more wear out of the pieces so the value is much higher. PLUS you are guaranteed to have matching items. But my favorite part is that they are like Garanimals for adults. You can grab just about anything from the collection and put them on together to walk out the door. Less thinking…I’m always up for less thinking.
How to Start
I think the key to starting a capsule is to choose a few solid tops and versatile dresses to build from. Here’s the formula I usually start with to get rolling:
- 2-3 solid dresses/tops
- 2-3 solid skirts/leggings
- 1-2 tops/dresses with stripes or dots to make pattern mixing easy
- 1 solid layer piece
- fill in with coordinating patterned tops, skirts and leggings that are in the same color family
This capsule had 14 pieces and includes some of our higher priced lines. I think 10-15 is an excellent number to be able to get A LOT of outfits. Many customers prefer a smaller collection, so I often pull 5-6 pieces and get plenty of mix and match outfits too. It is all budget and preference dependent and you can just let me know what you’re looking for when I put one together for you!
For this capsule here’s what I included:
|Cassie Skirt (2)||$35||$70|
|Perfect Tee (2)||$36||$72|
|Classic Tee (2)||$35||$70|
With 5 shirts, 2 dresses, 3 skirts and 2 layering pieces we made 35 outfits and I’m sure there are many more possibilities.
I think I followed my above formula pretty well. Here’s what we have…
- 1 solid shirt
- 1 striped shirt
- 3 patterend shirts
- 2 solid dresses (needed since I only had one solid shirt)
- 2 solid skirts
- 1 patterned shirt
- 1 solid layering piece
- 1 patterned layering piece
- 2 patterned leggings
Add one pair of solid leggings to this, especially black and the outfit possibilities go up even more!
